Last spring, Texas Tech Panhellenic reached out to my team about having me speak at a women’s event on their campus this fall.
And let me say, they hit this one out of the park! I absolutely LOVED the girls at Texas Tech. A sweet girl, Gabby, was the dreamer and doer behind this event and had a huge hand in working with TTU’s administration to make it possible.
The event was held on the lawn of Alpha Delta Xi’s (a sorority) lawn at sunset. Hundreds of girls came from all over campus in their comfy clothes and sat on blankets on the lawn. They had the cutest little snack bar, an awesome worship leader, and chalkboard signs with Bible verses and welcoming words all over the space.
I LOVE set ups like this…it’s like a big sleepover where we all just get to hang out. Comfortable, intimate settings like this seem to break some of the tension that can naturally arise when you put hundreds of women that don’t know each other together in a small place.
It’s as if there’s an level understood friendship and shared imperfect humanity that allows everyone to just come as they are.
Anyway, at this event I talked about what it looks like to be Fully Known and Deeply Loved. Girls joined hands, had a chance to pray in surrender to Jesus, and embrace one another. Tears were cried, smiles were had, and hugs were given all around.
I left with such a full heart after this event.
Texas Tech Panhellenic, THANK YOU for making this event happen and thank you for entrusting your girls to me and my team. We love you all!
Thank you to Emily Koontz for these beautiful photos!
